Its international influence was ensured by the famous rally and by the biennial of contemporary art Dak'Art. The city is located at the far west of the Cape Verde peninsula, on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. It is the political, economic and cultural capital of Senegal. It alone concentrates 80% of industrial and commercial companies and around 1/4 of the country's total population. The city enjoys a tropical climate, influenced by the southern monsoon: west which brings rain and also by the dry and hot wind called Harmattan. Its mild climate from April to October, around 20 °, varies with the seasons. Visiting the city on foot is almost impossible, the population mainly uses brightly colored fast buses or taxis. ADS will make you discover some small nuggets of Dakar, like the monument of the African Renaissance and its panoramic view of the city and the ocean, from the head of man, the magnificent MCM museum (Museum of Black Civilizations) , the house of Musée D'Ousmane Sow, world-renowned sculptor, work of art in its own right, the magnificent Soumbedioume market, a palette of colors like Senegal: we talk loudly, it jostles but everything you risk, it's a real favorite.
